I am so tired of people making it their duty to tell me my taste in music sucks. Not only do I not care what you think of what I listen to, I don't give a damn about what you listen to either. Particularly if you don't know how to be open minded enough to realize that everyone doesn't listen to the same music.

Here's my proclamation:

I like HIM
I like Avenged Sevenfold
I like My Chemical Romance
I like Alanis Morissette

Guess what? If you don't, I don't need to know about how much you think they suck. Hell, tell me they suck once and leave it at that. I get it. I'm not a retard. Don't buy you a HIM/A7X/MCR/AM cd for your birthday.
I don't like Jack Johnson, I don't like The White Stripes, I don't like Coldplay. Does this make me lame or any less-cool of a person. I don't think so. It just means that we don't like the same shit - get over it. I'm alright with it why isn't everyone else? I have a right to listen to "sucky" bands because last time I checked, America wasn't Communist. Sorry to disappoint you.

Additionally, I make it a point to not listen to critically acclaimed bands because in my experience, if Rolling Stone likes them, I probably don't.

*As a side note: The other day someone said to me, "HIM is to goth as Blink 182 is to punk." Puh-lease! First of all, the correct S.A.T. question would be, "HIM is to Metal as Blink 182 is to punk." Secondly, HIM doesn't even really consider themselves metal at all, they are "Love Metal", a genre which I constantly explain and re-explain to people who don't care enough to listen but care enough to keep harassing me about it.

If you hadn't noticed, as clearly shown in the picture above, Ville's in on the joke too. Don't take music so seriously kids.
