Not to rub it in - but something...we're awesome

While scouring for some music news today we came across a few other sites who had also posted about HIM cancelling the tour. We would just liked to point out that we posted it yesterday and it didn't make it onto these sites until today:

Live Daily

Billboard

Metal Hammer

MTV

Blabbermouth

I mean, we know we're not ALWAYS on top of things - but this time, we f**king rocked it out.

Love us!

Oh yeah, HIM may have cancelled the North American tour, but they will be playing the Helldone festival in Helsinki towards the end of the year. So if you're in Helsinki, good for you, you lucky bastards. ;)

Nellie McKay sucks

So I bought her first album because I like Fiona Apple and and I kept hearing amazing reviews about how good it was, and how cool and hip her music was. It sucked donkey ass. I listened to it once and even tried to convince myself that I liked it. Granted, when I saw it for $8 the first week of release at Best Buy, I should have known better. I wouldn't take this new album for even if someone told me it was the second coming of 70's Zeppelin.

That's how shitty the first one was.

It's so bad, I once got a cd for free from some carnival or something for popping balloons by a band called Armageddon Dildos and I would rock that with the windows down before I would listen to this.

What is that common saying? Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Yeah, I think that about covers it.

Random news - Tool, KISS, Courtney

Tool performing '10,000 days' in Dallas

Link

KISS has sent their new coffee to the troups in Iraq. Ok, here's a little history lesson for you guys...Many, many years ago, Mars, the candy company, sent M&M's to soldiers fighting in World War II and when they came home, they had grown an affinity for the chocolate. I don't know if this is what KISS is doing, but who knows. Gene Simmons is the biggest idiot savant I have ever seen.

Link

Courtney Love is up to her old tricks again. Haha, I said 'trick' and 'Courtney Love' in the same sentence. Anyway, she wants everyone to know that the song 'Nevermind' was about her. She's also working on a new album tentatively called, "How Dirty Girls Get Clean." Boy, that's original Courtney...$10 says she has some sort of public meltdown/make-over before the release of her album. Heaven forbid she sell a record without exploiting herself.

Hear Ville on the new Cradle of Filth song

I'm not a big Cradle of Filth fan, but as you know, I love me some Ville Valo. I haven't listened to HIM in a few weeks (I try to get even rotation in the car) but hearing his voice doing a new song reminded me how really obsessed I am. I may need therapy. In case you missed this picture when it was taken, Shame-free met Ville and the guys at a show in San Antonio. We didn't know it was going to happen until about 5 minutes before so I had not prepared the perfect, memorable, profound statement I would make to him, so I ended up saying, "If I don't get a picture with you I am going to die."
How embarrassing...I think he thought I was nuts. About as nuts as Mige and Burton thought we were when we told them we drove 16 hours from Kentucky - now that's devotion.

Radio station names Top 20 guitar solos

Rock 101 KUFO out of Portland was unsatisfied with a list of the greatest guitar solos ever done by a British radio station, so they did their own.I have to say, it looks pretty good. Good variety. If they had asked Blabbermouth.com readers, it would have been all black metal bands - 90% of their readers are morons.

Avenged Sevenfold cancel UK tour

Well, sucks for people in the UK, A7X will not be touring there. Due to commitments in the US following the success of City of Evil, they will be returning to the states. Now, this is good for me because I'm here in the U.S. but yes, this sucks for those of you across the pond. At least all of you aren't getting screwed over, they will be playing one show on the 27th of this month.

30 Seconds to Mars are touring again.

Jared says that this tour will, and I quote, "blow people's eyelids off." Well, he's more than welcome to blow my eyelids off, just as long as he keeps his mouth shut. Oh wait...they were talking about the music weren't they? ;)

Oh yeah, they're also going to be at Inland Invasion with Guns and Roses and Avenged Sevenfold. That ought to be interesting.

WHAT. THE. F**K.

Ok, so remember when I did a post about Buckcherry getting girls from MySpace to act like skanks in their video? Well, it's come to bite them in the ass. Some girl is suing them because she was underage. Of course she lied, agreed to drink alcohol, kiss other girls, grind a metal pole and show her boobs, all while being filmed, but this can't possibly be her fault. What was she to do?

Oh riiiight. I remember...NOT BE A SKANK. If she looked old enough to pass as 18 then she was old enough to know better. Stupid girls...

Jared acts like a little bitch after VMA's

Jared Leto, who as we all know is a smidge full of himself acted like an asshole at the press conference after the MVA's. ArjanWrites.com reported that Leto snapped at a reporter after being asked about his alleged romance with Lindsey Lohan and then snapped at Arjan himself when he was asked about his tastes in fashion, "I was four or five when I first put on lipstick and ever since I have been trying to find my innerself and now I'm working on a boob job and I will go to Tijuana to finish the rest off."

I like 30 Seconds to Mars, I like Jared Leto but you know what, he's not that important to either the movie or music industry. If he disappeared he would quickly be replaced. His nasty attitude towards reporters is his own perogative but along with that comes everyone else's right to stop paying attention to him and his band. Also, if you screw Lindsey Lohan, you're asking for everything you get, especially that burning sensation in your crotch.
