DAATH and Madina videos
It'll be released on MTV March 10th.
Also a cool Madina Lake 'on the road' video. The more I see of them the more adorable I think they are. :)
It gets a little gorey when they show him in the hospital getting his stitches.

Live vicariously through our very own Sunshine
Chaos is the state I exist in, so it is to be expected that this day would be no different. I'm currently juggling a consulting project which weekly brings me 4hours north, my position as Pastry Chef at a Brooklyn restaurant, street team for Road Runner Records and My Chemical Romance, developing a product line for CAKES4ROCKSTARS' new candy line and training my new partner in cake and candy making. That's all the explanation I will offer up for my tardiness in attending the show on Friday. Let me just say that tears of frustration were definitely shed. I finally got to Nassau Coliseum, schlepping gifts of candy prototypes for the boys, to find they were full-swing into a 'Revenge' set, looking very much like they did in the days of 'Bullets'. Everyone's hair was grown out and dark. Gerard was wearing a black leather jacket similar to days of old. The romance of the past was delightful and made it feel like a smaller venue than it was. In fact, they devoured the expansive space of the coliseum with their intense energy. I joined in as the crowd passionately sang every word to every song at the top our lungs! Incredible! Their generosity with the crowd really makes you feel like every person there is an important part of the show. As if we were at a basement show with 15 people in attendance. It's beautiful. After the show, I met up with Dani (MCRmy NY) and Amanda (MCRmy) to wait for Vienna to graciously provide us with meet and greet passes. Dani told me about the parts of the show that I missed. The show opened with Gerard being brought out on a stretcher as 'the patient' and followed with them playing the entire 'The Black Parade' album in order in band uniform!!! Fuck!
The meet and greet was a fairly awkward affair with them sitting behind a signing table. Mikey was first so I just gave him the whole bag of candy I had for them (which included coffee-flavored, caffeine-enhanced candy rosaries with hand-made marzipan and bubble gum beads that were packaged inside black jewelry boxes and coffee-flavored "bling-style" star necklaces on black and silver stretch cord with a few of my business cards for good measure.) I just introduced myself and told him that I didn't have anything I wanted signed but I did have presents for them. I told him what it was and he seemed pretty stoked and asked me if I had included business cards! So nice. Then, Frankie was next and I got to thank him for setting up the Skeleton Crew boards and tell him that I had met some amazing people on there. He was pretty excited about that. Next I introduced myself to Bob and Ray and just told them that the show was wonderful and the band rocks. When I was moving on to Gerard, Ray said, "do you have anything you want me to sign?" and I responded, "no, I just wanted to tell you guys how great the show was.". I think he was entertained and perplexed. When I got to Gerard he was all, hood up, gloves on, turned in on himself like a little bunny. I introduced myself and did the whole, 'you guys were awesome' thing and then just reiterated to him and Ray that I have a cake and candy company and I had given Mikey a bag of candy for them. Absolute sweethearts! A band that's great at making music, great at performing music and great at being human beings. Their parents did a really good job! On the way out we saw Brian Schecter and he asked us how we liked the show and told us that they will be expanding it as they tour and that by Bamboozle will be even better, grander and include some fire. You know how I like setting things on fire!

Three cheers, dolls!

Who would support something like this?
I'm talking about the new Avril Lavigne video. It's just not nice, plain and simple. Put aside how much I think she sucks and how much of a poseur I think she is - it has nothing to do with this. What does have to do with this is that she is just being a bitch plain and simple in this video.
Am I supposed to think that just because the "nerdy girl" gave her a dirty look at the beginning that warrants being treated this way? This is beyond being funny, it's just wrong. Also, what kind of guy would choose a girl who would do all these rotten things to someone who obviously at one point was good enough for him to like?
The music is shit. The lyrics are worse. The video is mean-spirited. To all of you who like this, remember what it was like when you were uncool. I know it's a video, but there are impressionable girls who will take this literally and start treating each other worse than they already do. Avril has turned into that bitch in high school who was knocking books out of your hand and throwing shit in your hair during math class. F**k that.

At first I didn't think I liked Lily Allen. She's still not really my cup of tea musically but after reading this I realized that I couldn't hate something I was; a smart-ass. hahaha

Noel Gallagher is starting shit again but you know what? I love it! Poor Thom Yorke though, what did he ever do to him?
Arcade Fire is throwing barbs at U2 and Oasis. I don't really agree with what they're saying, seems kind of unnecessary if you ask me but whatever.
So Jena Malone, the girl from Saved! and these movies has begun a singing career. Let me be the first to tell you that I am officially sure now that if you can afford it you can start a singing career no matter how bad you are AND that this is so bad I had to mute it because it was pissing me off. No, really.
Promise me that if I ever have to go off the deep end you people won't buy my hair online. Just say 'no' to being a wierdo.

Personally, i'm indifferent about The 69 Eyes. Not bad, but not the best. I am however greatly disappointed in who they chose to be on the cover of their new album. Geez... I'm not a hater or whatever and I'm sure she's nice but it's just so damn cheesy.
I bet he didn't ever think she's see this did he? I can only dream of Courtney Love one day reading something I wrote about her. Ahhh, that would be the day.

I haven't read it yet. I'm having a little trouble finding it here in good ol' KY. I'm driving Friday to get it elsewhere so when I do I'll fill you in. Enjoy this "sex-on-a-stick" picture of Mr. Valo.
I hate to sound cliche - but he seriously has "it" doesn't he?

A message from Sunshine
These boys are playing Knitting Factory March 30! I'm excited to see the live show they put on. I hear it's usually nuts!
'Madina Lake frontman, Nathan Leone, was rushed to a hospital a few nights ago after the Oxford 'Gym Class Heroes' show. Whilst performing a stage dive from the PA system, singer Nathan Leone managed to hit his face causing him to puncture his lip. Despite carrying on with the show (how killer is that!?), he was taken to the hospital immediately afterwards where he received several stitches.
Chalk it up to the insane energy of a Madina Lake show. These guys won't quit for anything, even bloody lips!' -Road Runner Records
We, cakes4rockstars, are in talks on a cake project for them that will possibly include more 'clues' to 'The Dissappearance of Adalia'!
Check out their little home-made videoandCheck out the album's COVER to see if you can find the clue's behind Adalia's disappearance.Their full-length debut, From Them, Through Us, To You to be released on March 27.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I'd like to add in a few things. First, this band reminds me a lot of lostprophets/Kill Hannah/Fuel - anyone agree? Also, I dig that they are into their fans. Many bands I have dealt with have this idea that as soon as they get signed they're allowed to be assholes, I think these guys "get it." I know they'll be a little "soft' for some of you guys, but they're definitely worth a listen if you like any of the bands above. And lead singer Nathan Leone and bassist/twin brother, Matthew Leone were on the reality show, Fear Factor, which after winning supplied them with enough money to record their EP. It also put them in hospital beds after they acquired a bizarre disease from trapsing through cow parts and maggots. YUM!
Oh, and if you are unsure what Cakes4Rockstars is, it's a rowdy company that Sunshine has created. Visit her page (she's in our top friends on MySpace) to see the awesome cakes she has already make for some bands I am sure you've heard of.

Major Ozzfest news!
According to Ozzfest.com
"That's right, OZZY and SHARON OSBOURNE and tour producer LIVE NATION broke the news today at the Concert Industry Consortium in Los Angeles that their 12th annual hard rock spectacular--a 25-date extravaganza launching July 7 in Los Angeles--is pulling the plug on ticket prices and giving the power back to the fans calling this summer’s OZZFEST "FreeFest."
The other OZZFEST cities as of now are San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio, Kansas City, St Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Hartford, Charlotte, Atlanta, West Palm Beach, Nashville. Note: a final confirmed list of cities and dates is forthcoming."For the last few years," says SHARON, 'ticket prices have steadily climbed as artists demand more and more money for summer tours. We certainly want everybody to make money, however we also want the kids to be able to afford to come out and have an incredible experience. If we continued with the traditional touring festival model, we would have no choice but to raise ticket prices again this year."
This will either be the most amazing thing to happen to the concert business or this will be the most disastrous. As a person with some marketing experience I hate to be so "glass half full" but if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. What will we be sacrificing in the quality of the show just to go for free? What do you guys think?

Van Halen news whether you like it or not
So, I won't lie, I dig me some Van Halen and Van Hagar, I don't discriminate. They apparently going on tour and if I don't have to sell a kidney to buy a ticket, I might go myself. As for right now they're releasing a greatest hits album.
Tentative track listing:
01. Runnin' With The Devil
02. Eruption
03. You Really Got Me
04. Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love
05. Jamie's Cryin'
06. Dance The Night Away
07. Somebody Get Me A Doctor
08. Beatuiful Girls
09. And The Cradle Will Rock
10. Everybody Wants Some
11. Mean Street
12. Unchained
13. So This Is Love?
14. Where Have All The Good Times Gone
15. Oh, Pretty Woman
16. Dancing In The Street
17. Jump18. Panama
19. Hot For Teacher
p.s. I am well aware that David Lee Roth is nuts and Eddie Van Halen is a jerk but I'll take my chances.
Here is some DLR solo. Why? This is full on self-delusion, self-obsession, self-importance, self-indulgence and self-destruction in one 6 minute clip and I love it!
