"Don't tell me 'cause it hurts"

SPIN magazine could possibly be the worst American music magazine. Rolling Stone is pretty bad and Blender at least tries to not suck, but SPIN has ripped it with me for the last time. I question whether or not their album critics have actually listened to the albums they are reviewing. The interviews are terrible and I have a sneaking, yet completely unsubstantiated suspicion that they make them up off the tops of their heads.

While I was at lunch today at work I was reading an old edition someone had brought in. There was a review of the newest HIM album, Dark Light. Now, let's not be confused here, I am a huge HIM fan, but I can refrain from taking it personally when someone doesn't like them. However, the review that was written was awful. Just awful. They completely missed the point. Citing that HIM liked "insect mutilation" in reference to the lyric "...rip out the wings of a butterfly..." How juvenile is that? They gave the album a D. Seriously....a D? Then I noticed that they gave a post-"Exile in Guyville" Liz Phair album a B, and realized that they had no business working for a music magazine.

So...here is some info on Chuck Klosterman.
I'll qualify my previous statement by saying that SPIN sucks with the exception of Chuck Klosterman.
