MusiCares

A friend of mine brought this organization to my attention since I'm a lover of music and if you're someone who has come across this page either as an old fan or looking for some old dirt, then you obviously are a fan of music as well.  Take a minute to read below about MusiCares and of course while donations are always helpful you guys know (especially those of you around from the beginning of Shame-free) that you don't need money to get the word out.  <3

Stolen cymbals, the fall off the stage ankle break, a personal crisis, addiction issues, your studio destroyed by a hurricane, financial hardship, medical problems – you are a musician – and these are all things that can happen to you!
Who is always the first in line to help other musicians?
Concerned fellow musicians are usually the ones - sometimes the ONLY ones!
But now we have MusiCares - a non-profit organization that helps too. Big time!
We are reaching out to you – asking you to tell us what YOU can do to help our musician to musician grassroots push to get our music playing community to donate to MusiCares. The money raised will eventually come back to us and our musician friends when they are in need. It is an organization set up to work for us. Your little $5 / $10 / $25 – little donations will add up to help in a big way.
Please do what you can to help! In addition to making a donation you can:
·         Add a banner to your website or blog: Download them here: http://mirror.secondthought.com/musicares/

·         On Facebook, please “like” MusiCares® at http://www.facebook.com/MusiCares and then, share with your personal networks.   If you have a page on Facebook, have your page like the MusiCares page and then share with the people who like your page.   Share the stories from the MusiCares blog at http://blog.musicares.com/

·         Ask people to Be A Part of the Heart at: http://bit.ly/BAPOTH

·         Enter our MusiCares® Blogger of the Year contest! One lucky blogger will be credentialed to a position the MusiCares® Person of the Year red carpet as well as attend the event as a blogger. http://bit.ly/MBOTY.  And yes, Sir Paul McCartney will be there!

·         Write about MusiCares and how they help musicians and artists facing difficult times. If you need any information or background materials, please let us know and we will do what we can to help!

·         Do you have any upcoming shows?  Talk about the campaign at your concerts and encourage your audiences to go to beapartoftheheart.com.

Whoa whoa whoa

WTF?  Really?
Courtesy of TMZ
Do you recognize this mess?  Yeah, me neither.  This is Darcy from the Smashing Pumpkins!  YES!  I KNOW.  I couldn't believe it either.  What in the meth-faced hell has she done to herself?  So sad.

She's been arrested for something involving her not paying a fine for her horses breaking loose from her farm.  Whatever that fine was, it was not worth unleashing this picture on the public.  I could have taken up a collection and saved everyone the burned retinas.  Holy shit.

Anything new?

Not really.  I've obviously not been writing on here.  Whoops.  To be honest, it's kind of lost its fun hasn't it?  I feel out of sorts.  The music industry is shifting again and I feel really out of place.  Every ten years or so, things go all crazy and I don't know where to lie my head, musically speaking, of course.  Remember, like, in 1997 when everything got really terrible and the radio and MTV were taken over with boy bands and crappy teen tarts?  And I don't mean Britney.  I mean the wannabe Britney's.  We're there again.  It's hard to get motivated to write about music when everything you see is about Justin Beiber and Drake (who I will NEVER see as anyone other than Jimmy from Degrassi).  Seriously.  Geez, most bands aren't recording and if they are it sucks or they're so different I don't even know what to write about them.  I mean, at this point, who cares that Nikki Sizz was/is/could've beeen dating Denise Richards?  No one.  This is why I haven't been writing, because music sucks right now.  For real.

On the other hand, I've started blogging on another page.  Granted, I'm working my way backwards to catching up is taking a little time, BUT, it will get there.  My attention is now turned to food and travel with most likely some music thrown in here or there.  Hell, I could very start this up again if music gets out of the shitter.

If you'd like to see what I'm up to now, check it here  www.lizandjesse.com

Thanks guys and hope to see you soon! <3

Synyster Gates registered for my Calphalon Roaster

Oh, the things you can learn on the internet...and seriously, what are celebrities doing registering anyway?  Shouldn't they be able to afford all this crap?  This just proves that the music industry just ain't paying what it used to.

Bloomingdale's
Macy's
Crate&Barrel

And if anyone is curious about what sort of sheets M. Shadows sleeps on, then check out he and his wife's registry.

Macy's

Why did I even think to look for their registries?  Well, while scanning an old groupie website that I hadn't looked at in years I found out that they had gotten married.  Thusly, through a yahoo answers search, I saw they had a weddingchannel.com page.  I thought that was the silliest thing I had ever heard since they know they have crazy fan girls, but sure enough, there it was.  The internet is a dark, mysterious place of useless knowledge.

New Bush?!?! I know, it's like seeing a mirage.

Pretty stoked.  Not necessarily about the new song, "Afterlife", but definitely that they're back together.  The song is fair and catchy, but I was hoping for something ala Golden State (which is an INCREDIBLE album btw).  I guess Gavin and Nigel were able to kiss and make up after 8 years.  Such good British boys.  The new album is supposedly coming out this fall, but I don't know about all that - I'll believe it when I see it.  Either way, the new single is out and you can hear it here:

*UPDATE - Nigel is not involved, neither is Dave.  Just Robin and Gavin.  You know, Gavin and Gavin-lite.  Kidding, love you Robin.  ;)

Kroq - it's underneath the above picture in an embedded player on the linked page.
