G. Way talks new album

Gerard Way, singer for My Chemical Romance (in case you had forgotten) recently spoke with RockSound about their new album.

"A friend who heard the record recently said he now had no interest in listening to our older work anymore, that we had made all our old material redundant. I took it as a compliment, the next thing you do should always make the last thing seem unimportant and I think that will happen when we finally release this album."

I can't wait to hear this new album.  Everytime the release something I am completely impressed and excited about what a grib their song writing and lyrics have on me.  Definitely anticipating this release.

RockSound

Also, they're on the January cover of Alternative Press.  They all look like grownups now!  Except for Bob, he still has little kid face.

I'm sure many of you know that Frank has "temporarily" left My Chemical Romance. A little bird told me that he might not have left for a family illness and that it might be something more to do with disagreements between members...

I don't really know what to say about this. I'm sure there's a joke in here somewhere but it's been a long day. 30 Seconds to Mars covering Kanye West.

Amy Winehouse is working on a new album. In the meantime, Pete Doherty wrote her a song appropriately named, "Amy On The Mend."

From the horses mouth

You know me and I love some juicy gossip - especially if it's true. MWAHAHA
Ok, so here's some true shit. Names have been omitted for their protection, and mine. ;)

#1 - "What "screamo" singer recently performed and made a very specific snide remark about the recent release of a former drinking buddy's album while performing in NY? He chose to NOT make the same remark in NJ."

#2 - "The guitarist for this up-and-coming punk/pop/rock band with a new release "shrouded in mystery" had to quickly change his clothes before a performance during their current tour because he laughed to hard he shat his pants. Yes, shat."

#3 - "Parting is such sweet sorrow. This lead singer and apparently soft-hearted frontman of a pop/punk band out of Cali. cut ties with his girlfriend this past week right before a performance and sobbed until reaching the stage."

Now for some gossip that probably isn't true:

Rolling Stone asked it's readers to name the most prolific gossip stories about musicians they would think of. This is what they came up with.

1. Paul McCartney is or has ever been dead.

2. Stevie Nicks' assistant had to blow coke up Stevie's ass due to Nicks' destroyed nasal passages.

3. Mama Cass died after choking on a ham sandwich.

4. Angie Bowie caught her husband in bed with Mick Jagger.

5. Mark David Chapman was an assassin programmed by the CIA.

6. Members of Led Zeppelin pleased a teenage groupie using a red snapper/shark as their sex toy of choice.

7. Jim Morrison was killed by members of the Nixon administration/faked his own death/died from a heart attack brought on by masturbating in a Parisian bathtub.

8. Deborah Harry was once abducted by serial killer Ted Bundy.

9. Keith Moon drove a car into a Holiday Inn pool on his 21st birthday, knocked out a couple of teeth and got the Who banned for life from all Holiday Inns.

10. Gene Simmons had a cow tongue grafted onto his own tongue after a car accident.

11. Rod Stewart/Lil' Kim/Jordan Knight had to get their respective stomachs pumped after ingesting a gallon of semen.

12. During a drug bust on Mick's place Marianne Faithfull was once found with a Mars bar between her legs.

13. Marilyn Manson had his lowest set of ribs removed so he could blow himself.

14. Alice Cooper and Frank Zappa attempted to gross each other out by shitting onstage, then eating it.

15. Bob Marley was assassinated/given cancer in his toe by the CIA.

16. Phil Collins' tune "In the Air Tonight" was written after Collins witnessed a gruesome incident in which one man let another man drown.

17. Keith Richards routinely has in the past/continues today to get full-body blood transfusions.18. Jack and Meg White are brother and sister.

19. "Hotel California" is about a Christian church that was abandoned then taken over by Satan worshipers, the Eagles are Satan worshipers and Satan him (or her) self appears in the window on the album jacket.

20. Bob Ezrin, who produced Lou Reed's Berlin, got the anguished children's cries you hear on "The Kids" by telling his own children their mother was dead and recording the sounds they made.

21. Pearl Jam was named after a peyote-infused jam Eddie Vedder's grandmother used to make.

22. Charles Manson auditioned for the Monkees.

23. Marilyn Manson played Kevin Arnold's friend Paul Pfeiffer on the Wonder Years.

24. Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his guitar-playing gifts.

25. Roy Orbison was an albino and wore dark glasses because he was blind.
Pretty funny, eh?

This is not so funny - poor Frank is off the MCR tour again. Link

Live vicariously through our very own Sunshine

Chaos is the state I exist in, so it is to be expected that this day would be no different. I'm currently juggling a consulting project which weekly brings me 4hours north, my position as Pastry Chef at a Brooklyn restaurant, street team for Road Runner Records and My Chemical Romance, developing a product line for CAKES4ROCKSTARS' new candy line and training my new partner in cake and candy making. That's all the explanation I will offer up for my tardiness in attending the show on Friday. Let me just say that tears of frustration were definitely shed. I finally got to Nassau Coliseum, schlepping gifts of candy prototypes for the boys, to find they were full-swing into a 'Revenge' set, looking very much like they did in the days of 'Bullets'. Everyone's hair was grown out and dark. Gerard was wearing a black leather jacket similar to days of old. The romance of the past was delightful and made it feel like a smaller venue than it was. In fact, they devoured the expansive space of the coliseum with their intense energy. I joined in as the crowd passionately sang every word to every song at the top our lungs! Incredible! Their generosity with the crowd really makes you feel like every person there is an important part of the show. As if we were at a basement show with 15 people in attendance. It's beautiful. After the show, I met up with Dani (MCRmy NY) and Amanda (MCRmy) to wait for Vienna to graciously provide us with meet and greet passes. Dani told me about the parts of the show that I missed. The show opened with Gerard being brought out on a stretcher as 'the patient' and followed with them playing the entire 'The Black Parade' album in order in band uniform!!! Fuck!

The meet and greet was a fairly awkward affair with them sitting behind a signing table. Mikey was first so I just gave him the whole bag of candy I had for them (which included coffee-flavored, caffeine-enhanced candy rosaries with hand-made marzipan and bubble gum beads that were packaged inside black jewelry boxes and coffee-flavored "bling-style" star necklaces on black and silver stretch cord with a few of my business cards for good measure.) I just introduced myself and told him that I didn't have anything I wanted signed but I did have presents for them. I told him what it was and he seemed pretty stoked and asked me if I had included business cards! So nice. Then, Frankie was next and I got to thank him for setting up the Skeleton Crew boards and tell him that I had met some amazing people on there. He was pretty excited about that. Next I introduced myself to Bob and Ray and just told them that the show was wonderful and the band rocks. When I was moving on to Gerard, Ray said, "do you have anything you want me to sign?" and I responded, "no, I just wanted to tell you guys how great the show was.". I think he was entertained and perplexed. When I got to Gerard he was all, hood up, gloves on, turned in on himself like a little bunny. I introduced myself and did the whole, 'you guys were awesome' thing and then just reiterated to him and Ray that I have a cake and candy company and I had given Mikey a bag of candy for them. Absolute sweethearts! A band that's great at making music, great at performing music and great at being human beings. Their parents did a really good job! On the way out we saw Brian Schecter and he asked us how we liked the show and told us that they will be expanding it as they tour and that by Bamboozle will be even better, grander and include some fire. You know how I like setting things on fire!

Frank is sick (MCR news)

From what I understand Frank has been forced to pull out of MCR's Japanese tour which kicked off today due to an undisclosed illness. It is said that he had a high fever and had to come back to America.

Here is the Japanese article Link

Since I do not and I presume you don't speak Japanese either - here is an english translation:

Gerard said nothing particular about him, he just said that Frank had had to go back to America and couldn't play for us because he was sick. nothing more.and the guitarist, Todd, was quite good. considering he had arrived in Japan just before(like 3hrs I guess?) the show, he was doing pretty well. give it up for him!
the show was great. they did their best in spite of Frank-lessness.I'm going to see them again on 14, so wonder if they'll play songs like The Ghost of You and songs from the first record.
Gerard said "ARIGATOU(thank you), Tokyo!", "AISHITERU(I love you)", "You know what, YOU guys saved my life!(he decided to become clean after doing Summer Sonic 04)", "I really love Japan. I'd like to live here one day...I'd buy a piece of property." etc. it was lovely.awwww I miss Frank so much.

Awe!!! Poor Frank. I hope he's alright and I hope that it really is just a minor illness and not something major or something that's not an illness at all...we're on the case to find out more.

Also, MCR are listed for the XBOX 360 version of Guitar Hero II
