G. Way talks new album

Gerard Way, singer for My Chemical Romance (in case you had forgotten) recently spoke with RockSound about their new album.

"A friend who heard the record recently said he now had no interest in listening to our older work anymore, that we had made all our old material redundant. I took it as a compliment, the next thing you do should always make the last thing seem unimportant and I think that will happen when we finally release this album."

I can't wait to hear this new album.  Everytime the release something I am completely impressed and excited about what a grib their song writing and lyrics have on me.  Definitely anticipating this release.

Also, they're on the January cover of Alternative Press.  They all look like grownups now!  Except for Bob, he still has little kid face.

What the hell does that moron Megan know about guitars? She's so vacant I can't even hate her, I can only feel bad for her.

If these pics of Britney's breasts are real - she's got a nasty boob job. Poor thing got ripped off in the plastic surgery department. So strange looking... btw NSFW

Just like Claudio and Gerard...Pete Wentz makes a comic book of his very own. Such a big boy!

Gerard Way in Kyosuke Himuro video

I don't know who this Kyosuke Himuro person is but Gerard is in his video and does some guest vocals. It's a little odd, but not bad. Is it just me or do Gerards vocals feel like home? ;)

More info on Umbrella Academy movie

As we all know Gerard Way's comic The Umbrella Academy is in the process of being made into a movie. Mark Bomback, who did the adaptation for Constantine will be handling the same duties for TUA. Constantine was pretty suck with the exception of the fabulous Gavin Rossdale so hopefully this will be better. Don't disappoint me Mark or I'll hunt you down.

Also, My Chem will be headlining Japanese festival Summer Sonic along with Beyonce and Linkin Park.

Check out this pic of Gerard and Lynn-Z. Amazing. I don't remember where Sunshine said she got it - but if you'd like credit, just send me an email.

Gerard and Lindsey to have baby

I'm sure this is old news to you Gerard-philes out there, but he and Lindsey are expecting their first child in early spring. I'll forgo all the jokes about being born with eyeliner on because that was really outdone with Pete and Ashlee, wasn't it? Who by the way, have completely ruined that child's life with a middle name like Mowgli.

Anyway, congratulations to Gerard and his lady. Shame-free wishes you luck as you dive headfirst into parenthood.

But a bundle of joy isn't the only think Gerard might be giving birth too next year - The Umbrella Academy has been options to be made into a movie.

I consider myself a republican (I know, boo, hiss) but I am rapidly moving towards being a Centrist because there are too many psycho conservatives diluting the waters. I mean, doesn't this seem a little severe?

My Chemical Romance discuss new album, time off.

After tirelessly promoting the Black Parade - to the point where they had to announce that it was dead Gerard and crew are taking time off to "go live". It's an interview with MTV but you know how R-word they are so take it for what it is - pretty sucky and ill-informed. At one point they mention that Bob is in Chicago for "some unspecified" reason. Seriously idiots.

Read the actual page for more of their rambling. By the way, Gerard looks awful. He needs a nap.

p.s. Congratulations to Gerard for winning an Eisner award for best limited series for his comic The Umbrella Academy.

Kerrang! Readers Poll 2007

The results are in however you have to read the issue to find out who won.

In the mean time, relish in the fact that Gerard Way and Jared Leto were voted Sexiest Female of 2007. hahahaha

Jared had this response:

"That's fucking hilarious!," writes Leto. "Maybe next year you guys can make an exception for Gerard and I?"..."I hope all the Kerrang! readers are great and please send them a warm happy X-Mas, boxing day, and merry kwanza from the band."

Ha!

Read more about the Kerrang! Readers Poll here and in the new issue of Kerrang! which by the way features Ville on the cover - you can't go wrong!

Gerard discusses fans, tangible goods

Gerard Way recently did an interview with Rolling Stone in which he discusses his love for record stores, his wishes for rock stars to grow past the "sex, drugs and rock and roll" cliche and what kind of fans he thinks MCR have.

Internet technology seems to have helped your music. How has it hurt music?

Even I miss going to the record shop. In the next five or ten years, kids who are growing up will have never been to a record store. That's a crazy feeling. It makes the music a little more disposable, it makes the artwork and the packaging a little bit invalid, which is a drag. There's nothing better than holding something physical. I loved the discovery of buying music solely off the packaging, the name of the band, the names of the songs. The Pink Floyd albums always got me — Wish You Were Here, Animals, Dark Side — or a Good Riddance 7", with a photo of a distorted baby on the cover. I remember falling in love with [Smashing Pumpkins'] Gish, and then counting the days until Siamese Dream came out, then taking the hour-long roundtrip bus-ride to the mall to buy it. It was an incredible feeling, it was something I had invested in.

As a former drug abuser, how do you gauge the mantra, "sex, drugs and rock & roll"?

It's a dinosaur in itself. If we, as musicians, could evolve past that, maybe we could make something worthwhile. That's not just me speaking as somebody who got clean and sober — that has nothing to do with it. When I was abusing drugs, the allure of self-destruction kept me in it. There's something very romantic about self-destruction and sabotaging your life, and taking a hammer to it. Honestly, it's bullshit. That doesn't mean we can't be crazy and expressive and amazing or that we have to behave, because we're all artists and we're all nuts in some way, but you can treat people with respect and yourself with respect.

How would you describe the kids that love your band?

Extremely creative, intelligent, expressive and very individual, aside from liking to wear black. They come from all over the place, and in their hometown they're probably the only kid who looks like that, but when they get to our show they're all the same. One of the best compliments I can get from one of them is, "I met my best friend at one of your shows," or, "I met my best friend networking on the Internet, trying to get to your show." That's cool, because I didn't have that. I couldn't find any NOFX fans in my area.

Gerard thinks "emo's a pile of shit"

Gerard Way recently did an interview with "The Campus" some random-ass college newspaper or something (I guess it's not too hard to get an interview afterall) where he stated:

"I think emo is F--ing garbage, it's bulls--. I think there's bands that unfortunately we get lumped in with that are considered emo and by default that starts to make us emo. All I can say is anyone actually listening to the records, put the records next to each other and listen to them and there's actually no similarities. I think emo's a pile of s--."

Speaking of "F--ing garbage" that's pretty much what the rest of this interview is. It was conducted by people who had no idea what they were doing and used questions from readers of the magazine that are so bad it's making me rethink my offer to one day let you guys write in questions.

Boxers of briefs? Seriously? Are they kidding me?

p.s. The Black Parade is not emo - if you would like to argue me on this one I will destroy you. Just heading off the know-nothings at the pass.

Live Nation Employs Ordained Minister...Lyn Z becomes a Way

So....Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance married Lyn Z of Mindless Self Indulgence last night. If you remember we posted some fun pictures a few weeks ago of them getting their smooch on beside a tour bus. Well kiddoes apparently they think they're in it for the long haul and they've gotten married.
In news equally as important, considering Gerard has based the past, like, 2 years of his life and countless interviews around the fact that he's sober - he's holding a wine bottle. I don't want to get on the "jump to conclusions" mat here - perhaps he's holding for someone...that worked for me the last time I got caught with a joint. Just kidding kids - say no to drugs.

Good for them - I hope they're happy. They sure are cute. :)

p.s. somebody needs to crop that ol' big-faced girl out of the picture.
