The Grammy Nominees (Rock/Hard Rock/Metal)

So here's how this show is going to go. You will read the nominees and then below you will find my comment. Feel free to comment, feel free to disagree, let's see what you guys think. :)

Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance

"Nausea," Beck

"Someday Baby," Bob Dylan

"Route 66," John Mayer

"Saving Grace," Tom Petty

"Lookin' for a Leader," Neil Young

*Shame-free says: Why does Beck still win awards? I don't think he's that talented and I couldn't sing one line of one song since "Devils Haircut." Don't even get me started on the other 4. John Mayer is a total tool and the other three are older than baseball. In the words of Eminem, "You're too old. Let go."

Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal

"Talk," Coldplay

"How to Save a Life," The Fray

"Steady, as She Goes," The Raconteurs

"Dani California," Red Hot Chili Peppers

"The Saints Are Coming," U2 & Green Day

*Shame-free says: Why do people insist on including Cldplay in rock lists. They suck, their music sucks, Chris Martin and Birdface Paltrow need to take their kids Orange and Rupert or whatever the hell their names are and stay in England and away from recording equiptment.

Best Hard Rock Performance

"Crazy Bitch," Buckcherry

"Every Day is Exactly the Same," Nine Inch Nails

"Lonely Day," System of a Down

"Vicarious," Tool

"Woman," Wolfmother

*Shame-free says: I like Buckcherry but they don't deserve to breathe the same air as NIN or Tool, but I'll let this one slide since the Grammy committee was able to refrain themselves from putting Neil Young in this category too.

Best Metal Performance

"Redneck," Lamb of God

"Colony of Birchmen," Mastodon

"Lies, Lies, Lies," Ministry

"Eyes of the Insane," Slayer

"30/30-150," Stone Sour

*Shame-free says: Same as above with the Neil Young thing, and I am thoroughly shocked that Slayer got a nod. Not because they don't deserve it, but because the Grammy's are usually more conservative. Lord knows this shit won't be presented at the awards though. Can you imagine Slayer chilling with Justin Timberlake at the after party? hahahaha

Best Rock Song

"Chasing Cars," Nathan Connolly, Gary Lightbody, Jonny Quinn, Tom Simpson & Paul Wilson, songwriters (Snow Patrol)

"Dani California," Flea, John Frusciante, Anthony Kiedis & Chad Smith, songwriters (Red Hot Chili Peppers)

"Lookin' for a Leader," Neil Young, songwriter (Neil Young)

"Someday Baby," Bob Dylan, songwriter (Bob Dylan)

"When You Were Young," Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer & Ronnie Vannucci, songwriters (The Killers)

*Shame-free says: Seriously? Again with the Young and of course, I forgot about Dylan. I'm over them. As for the others...fairly predictable. I actually expected to see like Black Eyed Peas or something in the category since we all know the Grammy people have an altered perspective on what "Rock" actually is.

Best Rock Album

"Try!" John Mayer Trio

"Highway Companion," Tom Petty

"Broken Boy Soldiers," The Raconteurs

"Stadium Arcadium," Red Hot Chili Peppers

"Living With War," Neil Young

*Shame-free says: F**king John Mayer and his Trio can quit. He looks like he's trying to get peanut butter out of the roof of his mouth when he sings. Ick. If The Raconteurs of The Red Hot Chili Peppers don't win this category, we can safely assume the Grammy's are a total sham.
